Timeless Twine July Challenge

The challenge this month is "Summer Foods" well I almost immediately knew what I was going to make. I like when that happens!

First project
I wanted to make was something we all do in the summer whether we are camping or having a get together in the back yard on a nice summer day or evening. I used one of my FAV cricut cartridges "Campin Critters" and I cut the little porcupine roasting the smore! The Timeless Twine  I used was the Chocolate Chip Brown & White. I think it goes perfect with my project. I love all the Timeless Twine colors and I feel so much creativity when I look over at all the yummy colors! The wood grain & Plaid paper are from Momenta's "Great Outdoors" collection.

I decided to take another spin to making smores and made "Smore Pops". Cake pops are all the rage and I love the way they look and how you can display them so I scoured the internet looking for multiple sites that shared a recipe. I knew really how I was going to do it or relatively how it should be done but I was more wondering which kind of chocolate was the best to use...to use candy melts, chocolate chips or you can also buy a tub of a dipping chocolate made by Bakers secret I believe. I opted to go with the Melting chocolates you can get in the large squares at the grocery because I did have some of them. So here is what you need:

*Click on each picture for larger view*

1. Bag of Large Marshmellows

2. 1 Bag of Chocolate Chips or Dipping Chocolate you can get already made up and you just microwave it or you can use the Melting chocolates in various colors you can get at Michaels, Hobby Lobby etc. I would start out with half a bag to melt depending on how many you are making.

3.Graham Crackers Or Graham cracker crumbs (if using whole crackers you will need a baggie to smush them up real good!)

4. Lollipop sticks (I purchased mine at Michaels (pack of____  for $1.99)

5. Cake Pop baggies (also purchased at Michaels for $1.99)

Now another thing you can do is make dipped Pretzels and put all kinds of different
toppings like mini m&ms, peanuts etc., drizzled white chocolate over the dark just tons of them to put on them.
You can get pretzel bags!

2nd Project

I wanted to cut something from the Cricut Lite Cart "Fast Foods" because again the Summer Food theme. So I cut out the Corn Dogs and decided to put cute little peachykeen faces on them. I cut a mustard and ketchup bottle and had the twine "Cherry Red & White" as my ketchup & "Lemonade" as my mustard!

I also thought it would be cute to have it squirted on the corn dog so this turned out pretty much like I wanted!

The paper I used for the card base is From My minds eye Good Day Sunshine. I didn't do to much with it because I wanted to focus more on the elements of the card and the twine. The "Party all night" is a Momenta Sticker from "Sassy Sayings"

Hope you enjoyed my projects and hope you will join us at Timeless Twine on this Challenge "Summer Foods" and link up and show us your projects! This challenge you will win a spool of twine in your chose of color and a 6x6 Carta Bella Beautiful Moments paper pad!
We always enjoy seeing them and win some awesome twine and who doesn't need paper!

Creative Time for Me Friday Tip of the Day!

Hello everyone! Debbie from "Bugjuiced" here for another GD spot and Friday Tip of the Day!!! WOW where has this month gone! I can't believe we are almost in August! I really had a lot planned for this month and the time has just gotten so past me!

I have a cute quick little project to show you today and its a summer time fav with so many people even if you don't camp!

But with a twist because they are Smores POPS!!

I for one can't get enough of seeing cake pops. Some people just decorate them so cute! I wanted to enjoy them in a much simpler fashion and they are so so yummy!!! These would be so cute in Emma's Lollipop die cutout!!!!

I used Emma's (and one of my fans!) Circle & Scallop dies to cut out my sayings. I made a few with the cute Teeny Tag Greeting set also and stamped them with various sayings from the set. This is also one of my favorite sets! I ended up printing some sayings because I wanted it to be smore related! I used some cute Chocolate Chip twine for the tying of the pops. I wish I could show you this whole pic and the container I made to put them in but its for a upcoming challenge on another day!

This pic here I just stuck them on the top just to photograph
the sayings. Then I moved the sentiment to the top as you see below to stick in the box I made.

Here is the pic below where I had made a cute little box and stuck them in
the top of it. It turned out so cute but that is a post I am
on July 31 for a project challenge for another DT I am on so I can't show the finished project!

Another set I did I used the Teeny Tag Greeting stamp & Die set I cut the little box I put one in below from the Close to My heart Art Philosophy set.

I bought Jumbo Marshmellows (they are really big ones! Much bigger than the usual large)

Lollipop sticks from Michaels cake section Michaels

Cake pop bags from Michaels which come with ribbon also!

Melting Bakers brand chocolate (comes in a box at grocery)

Graham crackers (I got the whole ones and put in a baggy and rough crushed) I wanted some large and small chunks on mine. You can also buy already crushed but then how will you take out your weeks frustration on already crushed graham crackers! :)

I just took 3-4 squares of the chocolate and put them in a microwave bowl and "nuked" those puppies until it was nice and melted. (Stop and stir a bit in between)

I dipped my stick in the chocolate and then stuck it in the marshmallow to give it a good hold. Then rolled my marshmallow around in the chocolate and then rolled in the graham crackers! WOW if you eat one right away it is so yummy also! Since the chocolate is still warm! They look super cute in the package!

Now, my tip of the day is all about Gift Giving

Before you know it we will be looking for ways to make Christmas gifts because everyone is always looking for ways to save money because we have experienced some changing in our lives with loss of jobs etc. I found the best sites for finding creative ways to give gifts in a jar! I love gifts in a jar....something about just this simple gift and the cute labels (made with the circle & Scallop dies etc.) and tags you can put on them just makes me smile. I think homemade gifts are the best and people appreciate the simplicity and the special time you took to make something for them. I myself love to get homemade gifts.

Here is a few great sites to check out ideas for the gifts in the jars!!
1. Indulgy  there is so much to take in from this site! Things you just don't think about using for a gift.

2. Here is a great site "Tip Junkie" to show you some ways to save money and show someone you love them or are just thinking about them. These pictures are from the site I linked as well.

Thank you so much Emma for giving me this opportunity each month. I love Emma's products and enjoy making something to share and I enjoy searching for useful tips and hope that you find some of them very useful. Hugs to Emma & Aaron and hope he is getting better day by day!

Recipe book for Chef Bob

I made this recipe book for my hubby. Since I started running a business again he has taken over with all domestic duties and I have to say he is doing a fab job at it. He has taken up learning to cook and man that man can cook! He gets on the internet and finds tasty things to make for me so I wanted to make him his own book to put all his recipes in that he ends up liking.

I bought this stamp set from Unity Stamp Company as soon as I seen it! I knew I wanted to make this book. I wish it was a bit larger but it works. I used Momenta paper from "Family Outings" paper stack behind the chef and rubbed Tim Holtz distress ink all over it to make it look a bit dirty/aged. I bought a ton of different charms from a lady on facebook (lots of halloween ones because I LOVE halloween...well scrapping it anywhooo so most of the charms are halloween) these cute little knife, fork and spoon are one set I bought. I purchaed some of these Tim Holtz pins to put the charms at Michaels. Now one of my favorite things on this book are the "Momenta Metals" on the corners. I bought several packs of different kind (you know the halloween thing....a book is in the making for it) This is a new product out for Momenta and you got to check it out at your local Michaels. They had a large display at mine!

I used my Cherry Red and white "Timeless Twine" for the pop of color around my frame.

The frame is a cut from Cricut Fancy Frame cartridge. I used a die from "My creative Time for me" to stamp the "whats cooking" with. I took a cut from that die and just snipped off the ends to just doodle and write the words Bob's Kitchen on it" He thinks everything should have his name all over it. Trust me he wanted me to put it on the chef and at the top too! Man has a ego! HEE HEE

The paper on the front base is "Cosmo Cricket" I don't remember what line. On the back which I didn't take a pic of is My Minds eye papers in the red and mustard colors.

Its a twine thing!

Debbie here from "Bugjuiced"

I love twine so being on the Timeless Twine Team is like a dream come true!

Today I made two projects. The first is a shadowbox card. I hope you can tell but there is a little insert area  in the card and that is where I placed my stamped image.  I wanted kind of a tone on tone kind of look and I loved this olive green and white twine. I used a Close to my heart stamp set I had to do the lamp and sentiment. The sentiment was placed on a die I used from Creative Time for me. I love the way it turned out.

Second project

I am in a summer mode with my cards (stay turned July 31st for a great challenge!!0
So I decided to make a cute little card you could send out for an invite to a BBQ.
I used my new Cricut lite cartridge "Block Party". Its not a new cartridge out but
just new to me. I have gotten so many lately that I have wanted. I shop ebay cause
man you can get some deals! I love this little guy (My hubby wondered where "BOB" was on
the guys apron) He thinks everything I do needs to have his name on it! I am making him a
recipe book to put his recipes in. He has became quite the cook! I used one of my favorite
twine colors on this and it was the Cherry Red & White. This is also used on
my recipe book I will post when done.

NOW you must go to the Shop for some yummy twine. Stacy also has lots
of great items to help make some cute gift items for your friends and family. Colored
straws, candy bags, tags and More!! Click here to be take to the SHOP!!

I wanted to give you a sneak peak into a challenge coming up for Timeless Twine!! This is just a "taste" of what is to come!! Be sure to stop by July 31st and join in on the fun!

These are some "Smore Pops"
I used cake pop bags and tied with some yummy Chocolate Chip twine!

These are super easy to make. This is what you need:

1. Lollipop sticks (Michaels has in baking section)
2. Cake Pop bags (Michaels baking section)
3. Chcolate chips or I used Bakers Chocolate Squares that
you can melt in microwave.
4. Graham crackers crumbs or squares you crush up
5. I bought JUMBO marshmellows! I didn't even know that had 3 different sizes of Mellows!

Melt the chcolate and then I dipped the stick in it before putting through the Marshmellow.
I then dipped it into the chocolate and roll it around all sides to get nice coating on it

Roll it in the graham cracker crumbs

I just put on some wax paper until the chocolate set and then stuck them in a bag.
Tie them up with some yummy twine!! Check out all the colors in the store!

Love My Firecracker!

Hello everyone Debbie here with Bugjuiced with my first post being on the new DT for Timeless Twine  I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it. I made a little "scene" to share with you. I wanted to showcase the new color "Firecracker" Aqua & Cherry and first thing that came to mind was to try to make a hot air balloon. I did this purely trial and error! I printed the pattern paper on my air balloon using my imagine and the cartridges "Spring Chic" and "Imagine More"

The balloon by welding shapes in Sure Cuts Alot. Then I cut a smaller circle in SCAL for the center section of the ballon. I bought a bag of Spools in size 3/4" x 1" and then purchased a dowel rod in 3/16th inch. I painted both the spool and the rod with Tim Holtz crackle paint in picket fence.

Next I glued the circle accent piece on each piece I had for the balloon. I used 5 pieces total to make up the balloon. I just used a fine tip sharpie to add stitching to it. I scored each piece in half and then carefully glued one to the other around the rod. I took the firecracker twine and went around all the edges of the balloon using it and then tied little bows around the base of the spool where the strings met.  I used a scrap paper that was left to glue around the spool.

I used a sentiment from Creative Time for Me's tiny tags to make a little flag at the top. I also used the banner kit set to make the banner and I used The Lemonade Twine for it. Love this yellow! I also went around the sun with the Lemonade twine.

The clouds and the sun were just stock images in Sure Cuts alot. I used a peachykeen stamp for the sun. I love peachykeen faces!

LOVE THESE TWINES!! Now run over and get you some spools of these awesome colors. There are so many to pick from!

Thanks so much for stopping by!
