Making a Cascading Card base in Silhouette Studio DE

I heart you...

Today i am on Joys Life and our theme was just to use a flower. Well i have to admit I flew by the seat of my pants on this one. I have been extremely busy and it was after 10pm and I realized I was to have a project done. So nothing special here guys just a quick little card.

I used Joys Life "Wintery Puns" for my sentiment. See even the winter/christmas stamps can be utilized for everyday situations.

I also used my favorite twine from Timeless Twine in Raspberry Pink. I used Coredinations paper for my base in this bright fushia/pink I love it! The yellow is from a summer stack I can't remember the name of I have had it a while.

Silhouette DE Knife Tool Tutorial

I am really getting into the Silhouette Software and learning so much on my own. I just wanted to share some things I learned and hopefully by doing so some of you other newbies will maybe find the video helpful. I would like to start doing videos and I have a few and I am not very good at it but I guess practice makes perfect. I only recorded this one about 10 times before I settled on this video. Although not perfect I felt it was good enough!

I am making some files in my software for some of the card bases I have been doing such as the cascading card, step cards etc. so I thought I would do another one later to show how I did some of them! I hope you find this alittle helpful and not to unpolished! :)

Too Many Birthday Candles

Today I am over at Joys Life showing a card I made for Miss Joy cause its her I have the 50 cent (fiftie cent as his hip friends call him)  song in my head....GO SHORTY ITS YOUR BIRTHDAY....ok settle down Deb.

I used Joys Life "Everyday Occasions" for my card.

I wanted my card to be on the humorous side cause....well you know I love me some humor.
And Joy has a GREAT sense of humor.

I made another card that is different. I am liking the different out of the box cards. Although tricky at first trying to do it from vague instructions or you know sometimes you watch someone do it but its still hard until you do it yourself.

Well this one I created I ended up making a file in Silhouette so in the future it is all there and ready to cut and piece together. That is what I have been doing with all my more difficult card bases. I have multiple step cards, cascade cards etc. that I have been creating silhouette files for. I am loving it!! I used my favorite Timeless Twine also "Aqua"

This one I also re-did twice! I ended up wanting to create a more delicate shape instead of just a square and even though I am not loving the color of the papers so much I am leaving it alone. My poor raccoon can not take being removed again! So Happy Birthday to Joy!!!!

Get on over and wish Joy a Happy Birthday and grab yourself some awesome products!!

Timeless Twine New Release Blog Hop

Today the Timeless Twine "Twine-ista's" are showcasing a new color "Natural". You should have arrived here from Cassandra's blog. Today I made a cute little circus card and then a little (well large) tag/card. I used silhouette files for the circus tent card and different elements found in the silhouette store for the tag. The giraffe is one of my favorite animals and I thought this was the perfect color to use on his mane. I popped him up and then used a sentiment from My Creative Time for Me! All the papers on the tag were print and cuts on my silhouette!

Don't forget to leave a comment on each DT members blogs as well as be a follower of each blog and Timeless Twine. Two lucky winners will win a spool of the new color!! This is alot of twine so you will be so lucky! You have until Feb. 17 11:59pm to enter!

Here is the lineup if you get lost or want to start from the beginning~

You are O-Fish-ally my Valentine

WOW don't fall off your chair but I made a layout! Now we have to pretend it still before Valentines day because I had this project done and it was suppose to be my last post project and I did it ahead of time and forgot that I had done something so instead of showing this I made the flower card!

I seem to struggle with laying out a layout!! hee hee but my fish turned out too big for a card so a layout (simple be it) was born. I used a cute little cut from the Silhouette Online store. The frame is also a silhouette file. Just doodled a bit on it and the fish already had the holes that cut out around it so it was perfect to stick twine in! The twine I used is Pumpkin orange I think it matches perfectly to the fish color and the colors in my photo mat.

One day I will get around to actually putting photos on my photo mats or actually making photo albums for my photos! Right now seems I do things just to do them. Stop over to Timeless Twine (Bella Creationz) to grab you some twine.

They have so many new colors and stay tuned because on
Feb. 16th we have a new twine release blog hop. You won't want to miss it!!

Robot Love

Today I am on Joy's life and its all about Valentines Day! I used a cut svg cut for the Robot and a silhouette file for the sentiment area. I modified it a bit to get an inset that I could use for the sentiment to pop dot on.

The Cardstock is really a light pink but just can't get it to photograph the true color so it appears a bit peach but it is not. These are all shades of pinks.

I used the sentiment set "Sweet Popsicle Puns" and I also used the small heart from "Joyful Hearts". This helps to show you that you can use all the sets in various ways not necessarily only the theme they are.

I love the little robot!

Some pretty white sheer ribbon across the card and its good to go.

Joys Life Animal Blog Hop

Hello Everyone!! You should have arrived here from Sarabeth's blog. Thanks for Joining us for our Animal Hop showcasing Joy's Life Stamps!

Today we were to use an animal, card folds or 3d project. I chose to do a card fold. This one is a new one for me its a cascading card. This one I have to say was a bit tricky for me to learn. Actually once you do it yourself it really isn't that hard. I know next time some thing I will do differently. I will list the products down below for this card.
I used Joy's Life "Sweet Popsicle Puns" for this card. I think it goes well for the somewhat valentine theme in my card. I love this little skunk! He is stinkin' cute! I made my little twine flowers (I have a video on how I made them a post or two down the page) and then curled some wire to pop them up on the card. The other XOXO sentiments I used toothpicks to hold up!! I think one day I will compile the instructions for the various step cards, cascading cards etc. I have made. I just have to take the time to get that done.

Products Used: Scrappingbugdesigns- Stinkin' Sweet SVG set
Various other papers

Blooming Friendship

Today is my Timeless Twine day and I am showing a card I made with some twine flowers. I didn't entend to make this card. I was planning something 3d but time and a back problem has lead me to have less time in my craft room. I made a little card using Bubble Gum Pink & Raspberry Pink twine.

I used a sentiment from Joys Life "Yummy Puns" for this card.

Now I am NOT very good at videos but I am trying to practice the whole editing thing and how to get a video done without sounding stupid (have you ever noticed how weird you voice sounds when you listen to yourself?) So please don't be too harsh as I am a beginner and am trying to figure the software out etc. Plus I had forgotten how to use my camera HEE HEE old age man....its a bummer.

I wanted to show you quickly how I make these flowers. Its not rocket science but sometimes it helps to see how it was done and I am starting to get asked how I did this or how I did that....yea thats right just call me Martha....ha ha I wish I had her money but that is about all I would want cause with that wall of a personality I would bore myself. Can you imagine how popular she would be if she was not so monotone and robotic? Look how many people watch her now! But hey we can't all be bubbly and witty.

So get your popcorn ready and your 3d glasses...yeah right that would be so cool wouldn't it. I could throw twine at the camera and you would all think it was coming at ya!

Stop by to get you some yummy colors. New colors have been added and more to come! :)

Where is the Remote?

Today I am on Joys Life sharing another really cute project with you all. I used the stamp set "Tag Your It One" and as soon as I read the stamp I was going to use I thought immediately about the retro style tv! I love retro things and so this was an easy one for me to plan.

Now on the left side here you can see the cuts were so small I didn't get all the little squares out but I took my scissors and went over it and lots popped out but I liked the way it looked leaving it all roughed up because it looks like that old fabric that would get frayed and was scratchy that was on those old tv, speakers etc. (I am so showing my age here) So I didn't redo it.

The sentiment was Perfect for this!! I like the colors too because they are the colors you would see back in those days!

I purchased the retro tv on silhouettes website. I broke it apart and then I sliced off the antenna and then duplicated and welded the the remainder to create the base. Then I did another layer that had the antenna hooked it it. Used the piece I sliced off the top to cut another set of antenna's for the gray layer. It really was simple to do it all.

Its nice that you can manipulate these files and then end up creating so much more with them!! I am loving this cameo!

Hope you enjoy this little card and stop by the my blog and leave me some love! I really appreciate you all!

Stop over and grab yourself some Joys Life stamps so you can create some great little projects!!
