Whaley Love you

Today I am on Timeless Twine and although I wish I would have had time to make more than I did I really love this tag. The colors I love and it goes perfect with the "Razzleberry Sorbet" twine. All the sorbets are on sale this month and we have been sharing projects with all of them the whole month.

This was a fast project but sometimes that isn't a bad thing. I loved this little whale and the color I used was perfect match. I pop dotted the sentiment and the whale.

Stop over and grab some of the Sorbet twine while it is on sale! They are my favorites!!

Monster Ipad Case & Earbud holder

I have been a bit obsessed with the Monster files Carina Gardner created after doing my mini album with the papers she has "Monster Life". Those are super fun and great for making projects for your kids. Even though I am an adult I truly love the cutesy things that scrapbooking has brought to my life and this collection is no exception.

I did spend a lot of time on my album and I ended up sending it to a dear friend who has an adorable little guy. I think she can fill it up with loads of cute pics for him. Keeping with that same monster theme I seen Carina created the monsters in svg form and a super cute little pencil holder that was a monster. I had an idea that it would make a cute ipad cover/case.

Bringing the file into the silhouette program the only change I made was to just make a tad wider because I have the IPAD2 and not the mini and after measuring I just wanted a little more wiggle room, especially with allowing for a seam. I cut all the pieces so that I could use them as a pattern for my felt.

I love to make felt projects but let me be clear I am NOT by any means great with a sewing machine. I am a newbie with sewing. But hopefully the one thing you will get from this post is that you shouldn't be scared. I actually wanted a sewing machine to sew on my paper projects. Then I started seeing a lot of cute felt plushies and another craft was born. I had my sewing machine 2 years before I was brave and took out of the box! I was very proud of myself that I actually followed instructions and was able to get it set up pretty quickly. So step one is to not be intimidated. I know Carina is a an expert with sewing and I could let that scare me from posting on her blog a sewing project but i am hoping you all will get the courage to try it! My project is far from perfect and sewing felt (some spots 4 layers) is not easy as it seems because it moves a lot but the beauty of felt is that it is ok for it to not be perfect. You can do a lot of trimming, exposed seams are ok and is what you see alot.

So I started sewing it up and left the top open. I sewed (ok that word just doesn't look right) the divided sections on the two pencil pocket area's but sewed them at various widths for notepad and some miscellaneous items. I created a button clip with one of the printables from her paper collection.

On to the ear buds I figured the size I wanted to go with and using the monster svg file just adjusted it to the size I needed (approx 3.5" H x 2" wide). Cut it out on my silhouette and then used as a pattern again. I handstitched around two pieces with a "Blanket stitch" and I sandwiched a piece of cardboard in between them to make it stiff to use to wrap the cords around from the earbuds. The ears and yellow pieces were quite small so I used felt glue for them. I did sew a little strip on the back to feed the cord through just to help hold on to the holder better.

I hope you enjoyed this project. I loved how it turned out. I am giving this away as well to a little guy in our family. I think he will love it! Products used will be listed below.

New clips to come to store

Here is a quick glimpse at the new clips I am adding to my store. Also sharing a pic of some cute Halloween flair I am making. I LOVE Halloween so excited to get started on making some Halloween projects!! Honestly my Etsy store has kept me so busy I can't seem to work on anything I really want to. But I am happy the items have been popular.

This one here is for me personally! I am not making these to sell in the store. WAY too much work!

Cameo gets a make over

Hello everyone!!! I wanted to share a quick project and will be showcasing more of the frame files for Carina Gardner this week. She is having a FLASH sale on the frames 60% off!!!

I  knew I wanted to decorate my cameo as I once did my cricut and I thought this frame and the script was very pretty. It cut like butter and I even reduced it down!! It was just under 8" so that it would fit on my cameo just where I wanted it to.

The cameo cuts so nice this is very intricut but it cut beautiful. Some of the pieces since I reduced it was just a smidge bigger than a hair in some areas.

I think it turned out pretty. Check out the files Carina has in her shop. Some beautiful frames are in the shop. They would be perfect for a beautiful sign on the wall out of vinyl or even on a floating frame!!

Shake Shake Shake

My blog has been a bit neglected lately. I started an etsy shop selling planner clips, plushies and button flair and it has really kept me busy!!

Today I am on Timeless Twine and we are showcasing the Sorbet Collection all month long. They are  on sale this month. You can get a great deal on the set of 3 or buy them individually.

I made two shaker cards. I intended to use some cute camera paper I had but it was too much pattern for the entire card so I just used an accent of it on the camera card. The sequins are from Bella Creationz as well as the stamps I used for both cards. I will have links to everything below.

I cut the polaroid about 6 times and layered those pieces and added foam to just give it alot of dimension.

The crab is a Miss Kate's Cuttable file. The camera is just from the silhouette store. Not sure who created it.

The camera paper is from Simple Stories I believe. I had purchased Simple Stories "DIY Boutique" and Kaisercraft "Happy Snaps" and was hoarding these papers. I finally cut some to make planner dividers that I will share on here on another post so I had some scraps I used on the camera card.

Day at the zoo

Today i am sharing a little mini I made with Carina Gardner's SVG files. Our family decided to take a trip to the zoo and we had a great time. It ended up being about 90+ degrees and super humid but we made the best of it!

Jordan had a great time and for a little guy he did about 3 hours of walking and didn't whine about nothing. I think he really enjoyed seeing all the animals. He wanted to take a train ride around the zoo which we had hoped would show all the animals. It was crazy it just showed the buildings and operations of the zoo (who wants to see that!) so in the process of the long wait in line we missed feeding the giraffes. BUMMER. The giraffes are my absolute favorite animal. One year I was there they had a baby and it was just so adorable.

They had a new orangoutang exhibit that was quite disappointing. We seen only about two and they seemed rather lethargic. My photo seems bad but honestly it was because of the glass they were behind.

The cover I took the giraffe shape from the Alphabet file to create a shaped cover for the front. I pop dotted the giraffe for dimension. I hand wrote the "DAY AT" part of my album. Carina's "Swirly The" file was PERFECT for the look I was going for. I even doodled this out before working on it and I had doodled something similar so it was meant to be.

I have a list at the bottom of all the files I used for the album. It was fun and I still have loads of pages to fill.

I added Timeless Twine to some of the photos to just give it that extra little detail and to some of the tags.

**I used Carta Bella's Alphabet Junction on most of the pages and AC Cardstock for the solids

I used the "double pocket album" file to just create a little pocket and added the fish from the letter "F" I also added wink of Stella Glitter pen to the fish. Hard to tell in photo.

I created a button (of course right!) and fit it over the giraffe body just to give it a little pop of dimension.

I just made a pocket to keep extra photos and journaling cards in until I get to adding more pages

I cut a second layer on some of the images and pop dotted them to give them more dimension. I also created a button clip with the elephant. Here is a close up.

Products I used are below:

Who doesn't love cameras!

New sets of flair with some retro camera's on them are in the store. I just love cameras. I have a few more sets planned with a few different cameras and some others soon!
