Guesting for Top dog dies

Hi there! Debbie here from Craftin' Chaos and I am so honored to be guesting for Top dog dies. I am a nut over halloween crafting and I was excited that this release had alot of halloween themed dies to play with!

I am pretty new to using dies because mainly I have crafted using my die cutting machine but I have been more interested in using dies lately and this was a perfect opportunity to do so. I am in love with them already. The dies cut so perfectly. I love the details you can get with the dies that you don't get with using a die cutting machine.

I did utilize my machine for a few things. This project I used my machine to create the box for my spider project using the TC134 spider die set.

I used some clear acetate sheets to create an open front on my box. I adhered the spider web using some scotch quick dry and placed the spiders on as well.

I wanted to make a bow for the top of the box and so I used some black ribbon that was wired. This makes it so easy to manipulate the bow to make it look good. I used wire I had on hand to wrap around the middle of the bow and then I decided to take it and create floating spiders on the top of the box. This was my favorite project out of all of them I made. I love to make 3d projects and using the dies just gave this treat box an extra pop.

I also made a couple quick tags to just make a little extra goodies with the dies. The first one I used the spider as the base again for my button flair and used the word EEK on it. Some cute ribbon and you got yourself a cute tag.

The second tag was a bit more labor intensive but still quick. I used part of the cob web and a spider and adhered them to my cardstock then I used some tin pipe tape to cover the tag. I used small cuts to make it look pieced together. I then used a stylus to go around the die cuts and then also did some squiggles with the stylus and dots to look like it was all grommeted together. I then took some black acrylic paint and went over the entire tag and then wiped over it with a paper towel. Used a little bit of distress ink around the edges.

Using dies from TC132 Pocket Page Halloween die set I created a cute little treat bag. I made the bag with my silhouette and then one of the bags I used the scallop base piece and cut some of the candies out of it, then using the same candy dies I cut them in various colors to inset into the scallop card. I pop dotted some of the cuts onto the card to make them stand out a bit. I heat embossed the sentiment "Got Candy" from a stamp set I have. I created a little skull paper clip to attach to the top of the card. I thought this would be cute to use in your planner or just to add a cute little accent to the bag. I am a planner girl so I always try to create cute clips to use.

The second bag was done pretty much the same but no inset pieces. Another skull clip was made for it in a different color just for fun. These little bags would also be cute if you cut a slit in the top and bottom of the card and put pixie sticks through them. A great way to send a cute little treat bag and add some candy to it.

I really loved the skull die so I created a quick little picture frame and popped some sentiments on it for a quick little way to decorate your desk. Pop a few pictures of your kids or grandkids. The base was created on my silhouette cameo.

Last projects were using TC130 Wicked Witch die set. I immediately knew after seeing them I wanted to create something using this cute little coffee cup that you can fit keurig cups in or put some candy treats in it. I cut the skirt 3 times to bring it around the entire cup. Using some left over laminate I had I wanted to create a base that the legs could be attached to so they were basically floating. I just cut some strips of the clear laminate and bent the end to attach it to the top of the lid. Then attached the legs.

I also cute the legs twice, once using black cardstock so I could use the shoes from that piece and also use it to layer under my pattern piece to show through the little spiders I die cut out of the legs.

I made a button flair and popped it on a spider to dress up the front of the cup.

I had a lot of extra cuts so I decided to make a quick card and at the fold attach the witch legs on it so it would also stick up. I used a cute sentiment for the front and then stamped again the broom so I could fussy cut the broom to add a little depth and color. I attached a few sequins and black twine around the middle base piece.

I hope you enjoyed my projects. It was an honor to be guesting for Top dog dies. I love the dies. They cut so nicely and create extra interest that my die cutting machines cannot which is why I loved utilizing both for most of my projects!

Learn Hand lettering and Brush Script

Instagram has me going crazy on a daily basis. I don’t know about you but when i see something super cute each day that I need to find it and buy it. I often see someone that is showing some awesome hand lettering I am completely obsessed. I am also a huge font junkie. I don’t even know how many fonts I have but let me tell you this much it isn’t nearly enough. I hunt for fonts on a daily basis. Stalking all kinds of sites and if I don’t know what font it is I am frantically sending a message if I can find a way to contact them. Yes I know it is obsessive and I admit it.

So today I wanted to share some sites I found for hand lettering. This is something I would love to get into. Some of the sites show links to videos of “how to” or at least watch a little of what they do. There are several sites for classes as well. Amazon has several good books you can purchase to learn how to do some awesome lettering that I will link below.

If you do not follow Mommylhey on IG you should be following her. She shows a lot of quick little videos on their of her writing. She is amazing to say the least and also designs her own line of stamps that are super cute and even more impressive that its all her handwriting. Here is a link to her IG and her website She has an “Inspireme365” challenge going on where she post an inspiring quote each day encouraging others to join in on the

She simply amazes me on a daily basis. Truly a talented lady and someone that has the kindest heart as well. She just oozes sweetness and its rare anymore to find someone so genuine. I have been lucky to find several ladies to call friends that embody those qualities and Lhey is at the top of that list. If the whole world could have a small portion of her qualities then we would live in a much better place.

Here is just one of her videos on brush script but if you look through her videos you will find several.

Here is a great site for finding some free tutorials on handwriting

I purchased this book to try to learn some hand lettering from Amazon and if you do a search on there a lot of different books come up

It is all about the pens you use and Lhey has posted on her instagram several pens she uses and where she gets them. Here is a link to the instagram account she tags for buying her pens

Another great youtuber who is awesome at creating hand lettered projects and she actually has several videos showing the way she does it is Kristina Werner of K Werner Designs. Check her channel out I think you will find her creativeness so inspirational with card making and all the various types of projects she does.

I hope you find this as interesting as I do and hope you will join me in creating some great doodles and hand lettering to decorate your planner further, create some great home decor projects to hang on the wall or just send a special gift for someone. I know it is on my to do list to try it all out and see if I can do it. Don't get discouraged when trying cause I am sure it takes some time to learn but we all can add our own personality into it also. Our hand lettering doesn't have to be perfect and that is itself is what makes it perfect to me. Would you love to learn to do this? Think about the possibilities!

Sweet as Honey

Hello! I am on Cardz tv gallery blog today.  Glad to be back with the team again. I was on a bit of a hiatus to work on things for my shop and so happy to be back with Mary and the team. I decided on a 3d project, a test tube holder with peanut m&m's in it. I haven't done one in so long!

Mary has came out with loads of cute stamps and she has 4 new ones that were recently released. Today I used the new set "Basic Borders" to just create a cute stitch line around my box. The bee and the Honeycomb box are from a cute set on . I am in love with this box and the sweet bee.

I knew that the sentiment should come from Mary's set "Birds and Bees"

Be sure to check out the blog for new stamps, loads of ideas from the Cards and 3d team at Cardz TV

Sticking my Neck out on your Birthday

Today I am on Timeless Twine/Bella Creationz and this week we are focusing on Birthdays. So I decided to make this cute box from and use the Chocolate chip twine to hang around the giraffes neck. The sentiment is from Bella Creationz "Happy Days" stamp set. The twine is Chocolate Chip

I also used some sequins from the store Metallic Brown and I added some yellow that are not on the site.

Paper I used was all American Craft Textured except for the Kraft base for the box.

I love this silly giraffe!

Mrs. Brimbles Get to know me

Today is my design team post for Mrs. Brimbles and I have to introduce myself. This is what I am sharing with them. Click on her name above to go to her blog if you want to check out her blog post cause she has some great planner, journal related posts and she has a great youtube channel. My post may not be up at the same time because she is in the UK and of course I am in the US and so I wasn't sure what time to schedule mine. But here is what you would see:

I am ALWAYS the oldest person on a team, i am 52 years old. I am a retired business owner. I retired quite early (46) and I needed to find something to do with my time and scrapbooking or doing something creative was always something I was interested in. I never had time with running a business so I purchased my first die cutting machine, started a blog even though I knew nothing about a blog or social media at the time. So I just jumped in with all feet and started to learn the in's and out's of the craft world.

I was intrigued by everything. I thought at first I would like to scrap my pics, do some 12 x 12 layouts but it didn't take me long to realize that was not my forte. On to cardmaking! I loved it and still do alot of cards. Then I tackled harder items like 3d paper piecing and I was in love.

Along the way I started applying for design teams and I got one several really great teams and didn't get picked for several great teams ha ha but I didn't let it discourage me (well a little I did but disappointment is expected)

I have done some tutorials, dabbled in youtube, I love instagram the most and I am a facebook-er.

I have always used a planner in some form with my business because even though I had a smart phone I wasn't always smart enough to pay attention to my calendar on the darn thing. I am a visual person, I like seeing a physical calendar so I would use one to keep track of my appointments. I have always loved going to buy office supplies and I can spend hours in a Staples or Office Max and don't get me started looking through those silly Target dollar spots. It frustrates me because my target is lame.

While crafting I started to notice a lot of planner related post and I thought oh how I would love to decorate my planner and do some planner accessories. So I started making paperclips. I was a bit obsessed! But it has gotten me connected with some awesome people and Anna being at the top of that list. I watched her videos all the time and just feel like I know her so well from them. Its a way to connect with people across the country from you. I am in the United States. I tell her all the time that after watching her videos I go around the house saying things trying to mimic her accent which I think is totally adorable.

My love for crafting merging with my love of stationary and planners were a match made in heaven. Here are a few of my favorite projects and clips.

Thank you so much for letting me share with you a bit of myself!
